Deja Vu

This photo that I saw posted on dear heart dept of the interior, so reminded me of a consultation today for a dress rehearsal dinner and wedding party. This is so the description the mother was describing. A wonderful woman, she wanted every thing we had in the store and more. We have to love that, it is going to be a great event at the Blue Hour. Twelve foot long tables with floral, succulents, antiques found objects and lots of organic texture. We are so excited!

Another post of Hydrangeas

These photos are of the largest hydrangeas that I have ever seen in captivity. Bob and Allen planted these two in clay pots last fall from their beach house. The names I do not know. Each flowers and matures differently turning pale green and pink edged. They were asked by a neighbor "who was buried in the pot because they look so well fertilized". I am not exaggerating when I say they must be seven feet across & blooms 14-15 inches. Needless to say truly beautiful on the terrace, combined with large boxwood topiary and other containers of color. Hats off to the very gifted gardeners and their downtown condo garden.

Hydrangea center piece

A casual arrangement for a dinner with friends. Shrimp linguini to seasonal berry crepes finished the evening. Not to mention the final episode of the bachlerette. Thank you Celeste.

Flowers at John FlueVog

What a busy week it seems. Here it is Thursday already. So I thought I would post something from John Fluevog. This is a wonderful store located on Stark street. The creative interior and displays of the most stylish & colorful shoes. Not to mention that the staff is so kind! But now I'm rambling a bit. I am lucky to design the floral compositions for this space every other Thursday and it kind of makes my heart shine. Here are some photos of this week.

Fourth of July

Hope everyone had a safe and happy 4th! Here are some photos from mine.

Heathman Hotel, Portland OR

The second to last photo is not from the kitchen, but would have been if I were cooking. I will be looking for more floral posts this week. Have an inspired week as well.

Floral cake for Oregon bride best of 2012

I had a wonderful time, conecting with other venders in the Portland area. Wendi and my partner Bill were there enjoying the food by The art of catering. Wendi and I ventured over to the plant nursery adjacent to the venue Castaways, I think the thrill of the evening was the baby chicks at the nursery Pomarius.

The floral cake was constructed twice, for the photo shoot and the award event for Oregon bride magazine fall winter edition. The roses for the the cake where grown by Peterkort roses. spray roses and small tea roses were use along with alstromeria , mini cymbidium orchids, lucadendron, geranium foliage. The second cake went together much faster, so any brides that might want this as a stand in for the cake, Old town florist would be happy to create this again. A big thank you to Alisa and Heather at Oregon bride for including us in the photo shoot and the awards event, we look forward to participating again in the future.
